Hope
In Time Wizard, Ben remembers a poem that Athene, his grandmother, used to say to him when he was a child. It’s about Hope. Ben is trying to find hope after something frightening happens.
The poem called “Hope” and it’s by Emily Dickinson who lived a very long time ago. People think she wrote it in 1861 but it might have been a little before, or a little after. In the video linked here “Hope” is read by Clare Danes (the actress from Baz Luhrman’s Romeo + Juliet, pictured here) and … for people who are hearing impaired, it’s signed beautifully by Rachel who was nine years old when the video was made.
