Why Ondine?
The Wonderful and Incredibly Talented Lily Coulombe
As you know, Diane and her team have written all about the adventures in time … and they wanted a cover image which showed Skye near Minnow’s church on the edge of a cliff by the sea. Because they were so busy writing and programming, they knew they needed an illustrator, but they wanted someone really good at drawing wild places like Lowood.
So, they started their search by googling ‘drawing of cliff by the sea’. That led them to Lily Coulombe … and this image, which is so good.
Then they found Lily here on this link https://ondineillustration.weebly.com/ and they were hooked!
When they received Lily’s first draft of the cover, they could not believe how much like their imagination her drawings are.
And, from there, began an amazing partnership. Lily has done so many amazing drawings and paintings for us. We hope that through our books so many people will get to see her work!
Lily, you are amazing, and we hope your career as an artist really takes off!!
